There is a difference on this point between Tannaim, as it has been taught: R. Eliezer says that Job was in the days 'of the judging of the judges,'<span class="x" onmousemove="('comment',' This is a literal translation of the opening words of the Book of Ruth, rendered in the E.V., 'in the days when the Judges judged.' ');">⁷</span>
